Race news

There are many races Kim is planning this year. Some of these races are the UP-200, and the Can-Am which is necessary for competition in the Iditarod. Other races Kim hopes to compete in are the Eagle Lake 100, and the Bear Greese 400.

Great News!!! Kim has finished the Seney 300 in January which is her last qualifier for Iditarod. She also ran the Eagle Lake 100 and Greenville 100 and placed 9th in each.

On March 6, 2007 Kim's dream came true as she crossed the finish line in the Can-Am 250 race in Kent, ME. Many people put there lives on hold to help me get to this point. Many thanks to Diane Geitzenauer who was our #1 handler, truck driver, cook and supporter. Mark Smith who was our B team in the 30 and has been my handler for 7 years, my mother who supports her daughter fully and is always there for her. Also thanks to Dave Farry who was our truck driver, Christine Richardson for being my running partner on the race. Most of all Maple and Sapphire who lead the team and never gave up. The race team for the 250 was Maple and Sapphire (Lead), Cotton, Appie (swing) Trumpet, Kuparuk, Denver Avalanche, Lawrence and Trawler. The team started with 10 dogs out of main street and ended with 9 at the finish. Thank you to all of them for getting me to the finish line. Truly it was a team effort.

The bowl-a-thon went off well on Sat night July 19th. Fun was had by all especially watching Kim learn how to bowl. Jean did a great job organizing this event and we thank her one and all.
