Kim has more adventure in her heart than just airplanes. She met a FedEx Airline Captain who introduced her to Alaska, and she like most people saw the beauty and adventure available. He felt that Kim belonged in Alaska. Over a period of years Kim has been back to Alaska several times. As a side issue Kim soon taught Captain Belanger's daughter how to fly.

Kim eventually met and became friends with Susan Butcher and Dave Monson the Iditarod race team winner. Susan helped Kim get started with race-oriented sled dogs. Susan felt the beautiful Samoyed dogs could not compete in the Iditarod, thus Kim acquired some of these beautiful animals. Kim now has dogs from Susan's dog's blood line that had been winners. Kim has now has over 25 dogs, that are have been cross breed from hounds from Rob Downey. These dogs will be used for future race competition.
